Tailgates, family reunions, block parties…all Hit Different! with the right barbeque. Our flavors are southern rooted; our low and slow techniques go back generations.
We also offer southern comfort classics, including hand-pattied cheeseburgers, fried chicken, fish, and shrimp. All paired with fries, okra, and homestyle sides like baked beans, Mac and cheese, and collard greens.

Our Story
Our story begins in New Castle,AL, several generations ago. Living on minimal means, our grandparents and great-grandparents depended on home cooked meals to provide nourishment to growing children and sustenance to hard working parents. Barbeques were our way to connect and reflect as a family.
John “Sonny” Hall, Zanetta’s father, was a staple in the New Castle community and a cornerstone of the family barbeques. He loved to start his day early, smoking ribs for the family; while those smoked, he would prepare the BEST burgers for us. When he wasn’t barbecuing, he was fishing the rivers and lakes throughout Alabama. Seldom was a day he didn’t bring back something good for the family.
While Sonny prepared the main course, Barbara Hall, Zanetta’s mom, would focus on the fixin’s - mac and cheese, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw and more!
Today, with the support of her family, Zanetta’s keeps John’s and Barbara’s passion alive. After 40+ years in the restaurant and hospitality industry, she transitioned into the food truck world. After connecting with Pelham, Birmingham, Trussville, Gardendale and other cities across central Alabama, Zanetta has established Hit Different! Barbeque and Grill restaurant
